We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Test and Balance (TAB) Technician to join our team. The TAB Technician is responsible for testing, adjusting, and balancing HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards. This role involves working under the guidance of senior technicians to measure air and water flow rates, troubleshoot HVAC system issues, and document findings in reports.

  • Assist in testing, adjusting, and balancing (TAB) HVAC systems, including air and hydronic systems.

  • Measure airflow, water flow, pressure, and temperature using specialized instruments.
  • Record and analyze data to ensure systems meet design specifications and industry standards.

  • Work with engineers, contractors, and HVAC professionals to troubleshoot system performance issues.

  • Read  blueprints, mechanical drawings, and system specifications.

  • Maintain and calibrate testing equipment to ensure accuracy.
  • Document findings and assist in preparing reports for clients and project managers.

  • Follow company safety procedures and adhere to OSHA and industry regulations.

  • Assist with other duties as assigned by the lead TAB technician or supervisor.

Work Environment:

Work Environment:

  • Field-based role, requiring work on construction sites, commercial buildings, industrial facilities, and mission-critical environments.

  • May involve occasional night, weekend, or emergency service work depending on project demands.

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical training or HVAC-related coursework is a plus).
  • Basic understanding of HVAC systems and mechanical principles (training provided).
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
  • Good mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Willingness to work in various environments, including construction sites and mechanical rooms.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in confined spaces or at
    heights as needed.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in
    a team setting.
  • Background Check: Must be able to pass a comprehensive
    background check.
  • Drug & Alcohol Screening: Must submit to and pass a drug and alcohol test prior to hiring.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to climb and work off ladders, including extension ladders to access rooftops.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to extend arms overhead for extended periods to facilitate testing and adjusting.
  • Must be comfortable working in confined spaces, at heights, and in various environmental conditions.

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required):

  • Prior experience or coursework in HVAC, mechanical systems, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with testing instruments such as manometers, anemometers, and flow hoods.
