The Senior Test and Balance (TAB) Technician is a highly experienced professional responsible for ensuring HVAC systems operate at peak efficiency through precise testing, adjusting, and balancing (TAB) procedures. With 15+ years of industry experience, this role involves diagnosing complex HVAC performance issues, optimizing system functionality, and ensuring compliance with engineering specifications and industry standards (ASHRAE, NEBB, AABC). The Senior TAB Technician also provides leadership, mentoring junior technicians, and collaborating with engineers, contractors, and project managers.

Minimum Requirements:
- Education: High School Diploma required.
- Experience: Minimum 15+ years in HVAC testing, adjusting, and balancing (TAB) for commercial, industrial, and institutional projects.
- Certifications: NEBB, AABC, or TABB certification (or ability to obtain).
- Background Check: Must be able to pass a comprehensive
background check. - Driving Record: Must have a clean driving record and a valid
driver’s license. - Drug & Alcohol Screening: Must submit to and pass a drug and alcohol test prior to hiring.

Technical & Professional Skills:
- HVAC Expertise:
- Extensive knowledge of airflow dynamics, hydronic systems, and HVAC controls.
- Ability to perform air and water balancing, duct leakage testing, and building pressurization.
- Familiarity with ASHRAE, NEBB, and AABC standards.
- Experience conducting sound and vibration analysis.
- Blueprint & Schematic Reading:
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) drawings.
- Understanding of HVAC system design, duct layouts, and hydronic piping schematics.
- Project Leadership & Work Ethic:
- Must be able to work independently and unsupervised.
- Experience leading TAB projects and training junior technicians.
- Strong organizational skills, written and verbal communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to climb and work off ladders, including extension ladders to access rooftops.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to extend arms overhead for extended periods to facilitate testing and adjusting.
- Must be comfortable working in confined spaces, at heights, and in various environmental conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in hospitals, laboratories, cleanrooms, and high-performance buildings.
- Knowledge of energy audits, commissioning (Cx), and retro-commissioning.
- OSHA 30 or other relevant safety certifications.
